Bryn Walking provided the REC Life Saver first aid course for the village of Priest Weston. This was the second time we had offered the Life Saver course as an opportunity for residents to sign up, train and be more informed about life saving skills. It was a very enjoyable course to provide for the village and the facilities at the village hall are fantastic. Feedback:

It was great to deliver this course for Alan Ward. We are providing the course again in April for all those who couldn't make it this time. Some of the course assessment was provided in appropriate terrain for Alan. Alan's comments:
'I’d like to thank you for this course on January 13th/14th/16th which I enjoyed. Your courses use very appropriate equipment to practice on and I was particularly impressed with three different types of choking training equipment. I’ve had to treat this condition three times and I believe one cannot train enough to be able to resolve choking issues. I liked the BHF QR CPR link which I hadn’t seen before. The different types of assessment you used to assess me were quite varied but I considered them to be fair. Thanks for running this course just for me - I was glad I passed! I look forward to receiving my certificate!' Bryn Walking now provides the NNAS Silver Navigator Award in The Shropshire Hills. What fun we had - a fabulous 2 days. The locations and terrain were ideal for learning new skills and putting everything into practice. Well done to both candidates for gaining their award. Feedback:
Bryn Walking provided this course at the Brecon Beacons Visitors Centre for 9 Outdoor Professionals from various backgrounds. This gave the course perfect dynamics and was expertly delivered by Mr Alan Ward, whose wealth of knowledge and experience makes this Bryn Walking course unique and of a very high standard.

REC (l5) Travel & Expedition First Aid Bryn Walking provided a REC (Rescue Emergency Care) HSE EFAW 6hr course for Faber Technology Ltd. A great fun day with 3 employees of the plastic moulding company. They all had a very good understanding of HSE requirements in their workspace and had a professional approach to the need for first aid training which made it very worthwhile and a pleasure to deliver this course for them. Thank you!
Bryn Walking donated a navigation day for the Priest Weston Harvest festival promise auction. It was in aid the children of Gaza. Jackie was a fun person to be out with on the hills. Her map reading abilities were great so we could quickly move on to introducing the compass and having fun on the hills, finding points of interest, reading the landscape and navigating.
What better than to be able to walk out of your front door onto a landscape not only outstandingly beautiful but that holds onto history that goes back thousands of years. A sense of warmth and welcome fills us as we explore and experience this wonderful wilderness. And then to be able to share with others what is here to be appreciated, is the icing on the cake. The second day once certainly icy - as you will see from the photographs, we had more than a dusting of snow overnight. The conditions made it quite an expedition, and what fun we had! Day 1 A route over landscape that has history and mystery, from present day dwellings to medieval pillow mounds to Bronze Age cairns. A mix of public rights of way and open access with views to take your breath away. 10Km 408m ascent. ...and then it snowed over night Day 2
The unexpected snowfall didn't stop us. We ventured out well equipped and enjoyed every minute. 12km 653m ascent. The first time at Priest Weston Village Hall for the REC 16hr course (plus HSE FAW). A fantastic course - a huge thank you to all 6 participants who made this so enjoyable by being 'up for it', bringing their GSOH, and making the dynamics very workable. Feedback
