It would be great to hear from you too
I was out with Helen recently for a walk to Gorllwyn (613m) overlooking the Elan Valley. I'm a leader too but Helen led this challenging route onto open moorland which might navigationally challenge some people. Her leadership and navigation skills are exceptional in my opinion.

How lucky were we with the weather on Monday for our fantastic walk guided by Helen. Starting in Newtown, up through the Brimmon woods and on to Kerry with fantastic views of the Severn valley, the Kerry vale and Mule before heading up to the Ridgeway through Lower Penarron, Lower Cwmdalfa, Upper Cwm-y-ddalfa 1736 Farmhousewith views of Pen y castle an eroded Iron Age hill-fort, passing close to Blaen-cwm-y-ddalfa an abandoned farmstead.
Fantastic 360 deg views from first joining the Ridgeway all the way to Two Tumps Tumuli and Cross Dyke, a great spot at the viewpoint. Views of Plynlimon, Cadair Idris, The Arans, Llanymynech rocks, The Severn Valley and Criggion , Corndon, Roundton. Stiperstones and Long Mynd and to the south The Brecon Beacons. Before the weather changed on our decent back to Newtown. Jane Law one of our party members and an experienced Rambler was particularly impressed with Helen's local and historical knowledge. It's always a pleasure walking with Helen as she always introduces walkers to new places and hidden local history. How can you ever tire of our unspoilt beautiful historic countryside packed with loads of local history, led by a wonderful guide. Alwena, Jane and Andrew - Newtown |
Wow, that is super-cool! Very impressed with the mapping software. Thanks so much, Helen, for this fabulous memento of a wonderful weekend.

So that's where we're been 😊.. It's easier to make sense of it when it's all written down.. and thanks for the photo which I've forwarded to the others.
We all really enjoyed the walk and our first proper explore of what the area has to offer. I'll certainly spend some time on your website this weekend working out where next. Cate - Guilford |
We would never have managed without your guidance or had a clue what we were looking at. We were just stunned by how beautiful the countryside is and how empty!

Walking and Pottery Event
Hi Helen, Thank you again for leading yesterdays walk, the weather was not promising but the company made up for it! I really enjoyed the views, the chat and collecting things for using in my "artwork" later I was nervous about the pottery class but Cathy is so passionate about it that her enthusiasm rubs off on everyone and gives you the courage to just have a go! We have now completed three guided walks with Helen as our official guide. Even though we are local to the area, having Helen guide us through the walks gives us so much more than simply an invigorating and enjoyable walk. Having Helen on board means we get to understand the history behind our wonderful and idyllic scenery. As we walk and chat about all sorts of topics, we stop periodically to take stock of the stunning views, mostly panoramic but frequently 360 degree. During these interludes our conversation switches to the scenery in front of us and Helen for example brings the history alive by describing where the 14th century forts stood and of course we never tire of discussing the mysteries behind such sites. Very many thanks to Helen Menhinick of Bryn Walking who very kindly organised a 10k walk on the Welsh borders something our French friends and our hosts thoroughly enjoyed!

Myself and two friends, anxious to get a taste of the mid Wales countryside but having only ever referred to any area in Wales as ‘Wales’ we didn’t have much of a clue about specific places. We were so lucky to find Helen from Bryn Walking. She lead our walk and was able to impart her considerable local and historical knowledge.
Our wonderful walk included Dolforwyn Castle, an enigmatic ruin and representative of many of the 13 Century ruins in the area.
Helen was able to set the pace to suit us, the timing and distance was also specified by us and we were back in time to change and get the pub for our dinner, feeling well exercised. Helen is organised, efficient and friendly. I would definitely recommend anyone visiting this unspoilt area to get in touch with Bryn Walking and fast track your way into the Welsh Marches.

Thank you Helen for the lovely walk up The Roman Steps, somewhere near Harlech. We were staying at Goronwy Cottage Barmouth for a pre Christmas break. Shame about the slippy stones but your assertive decision making, to keep us safe and avoid the icy peak, was admirable. I look forward to doing the walk in the spring and I hope Bryn Walking will guide us.

Yesterday I went on a superb walk led by Helen. It took in scenic parts of Offa's Dyke path, Kerry Ridgeway and Shropshire Way all within the 7.5 miles. The scenery was spectacular and walking on parts of the original Offa's Dyke is quite a thrill. A very well devised walk.
